Indian House Design

Indian interiors are different from conventional styles to us his wealth of colors. The most frequently used colors are orange, turquoise and magenta. In general, in order to create a truly Indian interior of this home should visit this wonderful country, not just to look and lifestyle of its people. But to get there all the necessary materials and components (fabric, crockery, etc.). When choosing fabrics for the Indian interior decoration of the premises in the selected style, preference should be given cotton materials, which can be printed pictures of dancing girls, animals, musicians, etc. Interior rooms can not be called up to India as long as there is no carpet in the room. In India, the carpets with a geometrically correct figures and necessarily used in the regeneration of living space.

{new cubbies in my office studio...  "studio" sounds so much better, doesn't it?}

Just enjoying the last spec of the loooong snow-filled weekend before bed. Last week was such a nutty week that I totally forgot to post that I was a guest blogger/ designer over at Room Remix! PK's going a great series on paint with some of my favorite blog friends so check it out if you have a minute:

ROOM REMIX PAINT SERIES

Many of you asked about the driftwood hanging above the cubbies.  My dad found it 20 or so years ago while fishing in Georgia.  It's a cypress tree root.  There used to be bass mounted on it but he gave it to me  so they're gone :)  It used to be in the shape of a star but a piece of it fell off over the years.  He's wants me to reattach it but then I wouldn't have room for my cubbies!

Also, you might have noticed a few changes around here. My blog's been getting a few tweaks including a some new buttons on the sidebar. I haven't linked everything up yet but as soon as I do, I'll be sure to give you a little tour.

Is anyone going to the design bloggers' conference in LA? I'm all signed up so let me know if you're in!

And... I find out tomorrow yes or no for the design house. Am so nervous and can't wait for the pit in my stomach to leave. ( it has to go away whether we get it or not, right?? ;). I might be in need of virtual hugs so I'll keep you posted. Finger crossed.

Provencal House

Hi dears! I'm back in Argentina after a great snowy week in NY and Washington DC. As we had already visited most of the museums on previous trips we decided to go to the theatres and we saw four delightful shows: The Lion King, The Importance of Being Earnest, La Cage aux folles and Mary Poppins. All of them admirable.
Now we are staying here until Saturday and then we are finally going back to Brazil. Long, loong, lovely holidays!

Today I'd like to show you this Provencal house perched on a hillside with views of the village of Ramatuelle in France. It belongs to Stephane Olivier, an antique dealer who likes to mis styles, subjects and periods.



A Napoleon wrought iron garden chair and table on the terrace.


A mora clock stands next to a Swedish buffet side table. Above it hangs a Jules Didier 19th century painting called "The Gardener". The lamp was designed from a wooden boot.


As much as I love this house and its style, I wouldn't dream of placing a stuffed porcupine in the kitchen... nor anywhere else!


Interesting and unusual place to place a candle.


Leaning against the crumbling wall, an old carpenter's bench serves as a console with a pair of candles on it. Under the pergola, the mismatched chairs are Italian.
